From Mike Most (Visual FX Supervisor): [There were] a few "inside" jokes in [the scene in which John is coaching Richard over the phone]. There were 4 pictures in Cage's office representing Fish, Jane, the judge and the opposing attorney. The picture of the judge was actually Michael Schultz, the director of this and quite a few other episodes. The other picture (the gentleman with the beard) was Jack Philbrick, our unit production manager/producer.
